We think of Baron Hats as a family, a very extended family which includes many of our cherished friends and clients. And like a family. we love to see them "grow up" and "make good".

Tim Olyphant is just such a family member!

Baron first started to get to know Tim, and make his hats when he was just a great guy who loved to put high quality things on his head. We then followed his career, and crafted hats for his spellbinding character of "Seth Bullock" in the ground-breaking HBO hit series "Deadwood".

Other wonderful visits followed, and then when Tim came to us to create a modern day version of the classic strong Western hero for the pilot "Justified", in which he played an old-school US Marshal who leaves his Miami post to journey back to his childhood home in the coal mining towns of Eastern Kentucky, we were delighted and honored and put everything into making him something very special!

We crafted the crown in the "Cattleman's" shaping, to express solid-as-a-rock values with a "no nonsense" strength. This was enhanced with a classic yet simple leather hatband. Nothing fancy, no frills. And a brim that also shows smooth lines, with a raw edge to go with his raw courage and resolve. A hat of its time, and like the character, functional, real and true.

And of course we chose to have it dyed in the original "Pure Sand", since the good guys should always wear a "pure" hat, even in the 21st Century!

The fact that "Justified" went on to become a series and a bona fide hit didn't surprise us in the least! It delighted us to no end, however!

In honor of our dear friend, and his new critically acclaimed hit series, we are offering the "RG", inspired by the hat we originally crafted for Tim in "Justified". In the ensuing years, the hat has changed little, except for some hatband embellishments, so we decided to craft the "RG" inspired with the styling of brim and hatband as it was on the hat Tim originally put on his head to transform into his character of "Raylan Givens"
 

The "RG" comes with a stitched and engraved leather sweatband, silk-satin lining, our special Lifetime Guarantee, and a signed and numbered Certificate of Authenticity.

It can be ordered either in the original production 200XXX Beaver or 100% Western Weight Fur Felt All our custom hats are packed in a specially constructed Baron hat-box, which you can use to permanently store your "RG" for safe keeping!

Mark Mejia, I’ve been an Olyphant fan for years, and had you make me the Seth from “Deadwood”. It was perfection. So I wondered if you could top yourself with the “RG”. Well, I ordered one, and it just arrived! I took it out of the box, and put it carefully on my head, and then scared my dog, my cat, and my wife with a big holler! You did it again, Mark.
